Find a solution to the plague problem in Rivertown |
Seth, the one you met in Aleroth, gave you this quest - so start exploring the Farmlands, specially the poor quearters and the quarantine section. You can't enter via main gate (there you see Elrath for the 1st time) - and when you try to open this gate the guard stops you. Lain, in an East house in the quarters has a key - but you only get if if you haven't exposed Elrath yet. In my XP lockpick level 1 was sufficient to open the side entrance
Take the west side entrance and search the quarantine section - pic 1-2 - talk to Tibus, Sara and Cedric - the hidden bottles you find near the well are a clue. Then leave this area and visit Com. Ralph, south of the Castle. He asks you to investigate further |

Who is responsible for the Harvest Disaster? |
Hugh is a farmer, NW of Stormfist Castle. His harvest was poisoned and he asks for help. You can find the solution, by visiting the cave NW of the Blue Boar Inn. Orc Tipsix is only in there after you have this quest - pic 3 |

 |
An orc is the perpetrator |
this orc poisoned the harvest - the cave is full of poison barrels. As he won't admit who ordered him to do this and instead attacks you: kill him. He drops a golden key - take it and report to Hugh - cave location pic 4 |

Where does this key fit? The key fits! |
Hugh would like to know who is behind this business. So go to the Blue Boar Inn and search for the cellar. It's in the NW area - descend and you'll find the room where the key fits - and in there the same poison barrels you had already seen in the cave. Go upstaires again and ask Splinter, the innkeeper, for information - pic 5 |

The cellar was rented to Dr. Elrath |
this is Splinter's answer and you could go to Elrath/Ars Magicana now - but I'd not advise this if you haven't been to Commander Ralph or at the quarantine gates yet |

Dr. Elrath's key was stolen |
this is what Elrath says - I'd not believe him. The problem now is this: If you reenter his house and search his cellar thoroughly without having been at the quarantine section/Com. Ralph's watchhouse, you might trigger the final cutscene with this Doc and can't solve the additional quests
But if you insist: SE of his house are 2 small walls and his house key is under a boulder there. Take it and reenter - click on the lanterns as shown in the pic above to open the last room into the cellar. Some lanterns have to be activated/deactivated several times as the pic shows. In the cellar: take the key out of the chest, remove all crates and unlock the door. I'd SAVE now, the corridor is full of traps and behind the south door is an unfriendly Djinn. I froze him and killed him with meteorstrike. Search the cellar and take letter on the tabel with you: CAUTION! The floor is trapped. don't forget the 2 cure potions in the SE sector - pic 7-12 |

Dr. Elrath is a fake! Dr. Elrath exposed! |
Search the cellar and take letter on the table with you: CAUTION! The floor around it is trapped. This letter reveals that he was behind the Plague, a dreadful disease in the poor quartersDon't forget the 2 cure potions in the SE sector. You should now report this to the authorities (Com. Ralph, south of Stormfist Castle). You will have a last cut scene with Elrath, he sends assassins after you. If you reach Ralph alive and have the letter as evidence with you, you get an invitation for the castle - pic 13 |

Find a potion for Tibus Find a potion for Sarah Find a potion for Cedric |
you found only 2 cure potions in Elrath's cellar - it was the intention of the Larians to make you choose which one of the ill patients in the quarantine section has to live or die. But gamers found out several methods: Pickpocket a cured one and you have a "3rd" potion
drag&drop 2 potions out of your inventory and press CTRL = split plane pops up: type in a negative number
let one die or kill one. You have no advantage if you heal Sir Dante's son = no reward |
